Moon Ga Young is, reportedly, in talks to star in the drama adaptation of popular webtoon True Beauty.
According to a report by Soompi, Moon Ga Young has been offered the role of Lim Jugyeong, a woman who finds fame online because of her excellent makeup skills and refuses to be seen without makeup because of her naturally average looks.
Moon Ga Young's agency KeyEast Entertainment confirmed that the actress received the offer and said that she was positively considering the role.
It can be recalled that fan-favorite Cha Eun Woo previously received an offer to star as the lead male character Suho, Jugyeong's popular classmate from school who knows what she actually looks like and falls for her anyway.
Cha Eun Woo, reportedly, accepted the role after receiving the offer. It will be his follow up to his period romance Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung and My ID is Gangnam Beauty.
It can be recalled that when news of True Beauty's drama adaptation was announced, fans took to social media to share their opinions on who would fit the role. Cha Eun Woo was the top actor to emerge as a contender because of his similarity to the looks of Suho.
There has been no news yet on who will be considered for the role of Seojun, one of the male lead characters. True Beauty is written by Yaongyi and is currently an ongoing series available online. The drama will be directed by Extraordinary You director Kim Sang Hyub. The script will be written by Rude Miss Young Ae's Lee Si Eun
Prior to offering the role to Moon Ga Young, it can be recalled that BLACKPINK's Jisoo was the fan-favorite choice to play Jugyeong by numerous polls. In a poll conducted by Kpopmap, the BLACKPINK member received over two million votes from fans who thought she would be perfect for the part.The number accounted for over 67 percent of the votes cast for the fan poll.
However, the casting of Jisoo remained a long shot because of the jam-packed schedule of BLACKPINK for their much-anticipated comeback year. With the scheduled release of their comeback single How You Like That? which will be dropped on June 26, BLACKPINK will kick off their three-part comeback this year which will culminate in the release of their first full album in September.
After the BLACKPINK comeback, Rose, Lisa, and Jisoo are also expected to release their solo debut materials, according to YG Entertainment.
