Prince Charles, reportedly, had a boring time while he was isolating due to COVID-19. The Prince of Wales told a friend, actor Pierce Brosnan, of his experience when the latter sent a message to check up on his condition.
Brosnan, who is one of the ambassadors for Prince Charles' Prince's Trust, said that he got in touch with Prince Charles to wish him good health but he was actually also worried for his own health. Apparently, when he found out Prince Charles was sick from COVID-19, they were just together for an event for the Prince's Trust in the middle of March.
The former James Bond star said that he made sure to self-isolate while he was in his yurt in his five-acre land in Hawaii after finding out Prince Charles' condition. He also wrote Prince Charles, who thanked him for checking up on his friend.
The Prince of Wales, reportedly, told Brosnan that while he was feeling much better from his battle with coronavirus at that time, his experience was actually "very boring." He said that could not smell or taste anything, as he lost some of his senses.
This wasn't the first time Prince Charles talked about the effects of coronavirus when he had mild symptoms in late March. While on his first in-person visit to the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, the heir to the British throne also told hospital workers there that he still has bouts of no smell or taste, several weeks after his recovery.
According to the experts, 69% COVID-19 patients also reported the same effects as the Prince of Wales. For some patients, hyposmia or anosmia are apparently the only symptom that they have of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, while Prince Charles was able to recover from the virus within a week, Brosnan revealed that he lost two of his closest friends to the dreaded viral disease. According to reports, he was on the set when he learned of his friends' conditions and wanted to rush home to Hawaii to be with the people he loves.
But while on the trip home, he was told that he might have to be quarantined or risk not getting out. Brosnan said that the world is at war with the coronavirus and, like his friend Prince Charles, he hopes that humans will realize and be more aware of the fragility of the planet.
