BLACKPINK's comeback MV How You Like That? has set new viewing records on YouTube as the music video raked in the biggest music video premiere views and largest 24-hour views.

According to a report by BBC, 1.65 million people tuned in to the reveal of How You Like That? on June 26 at 6 pm KST. This effectively dethroned BTS' concurrent views for On when they premiered their music video last February 21 with 1.54 million views.

The large turnout may be attributed to BLACKPINK's long-overdue comeback after the success of Kill This Love in April last year.

BLACKPINK also reclaimed the record for the highest number of YouTube views within 24 hours as the single drew in 82.4 million views within a day of its release. Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose once again dethroned BTS, who held the title since April 19 for their collaboration with Halsey for Boy with Luv. BTS' recorded 74.6 million views within 24 hours for the song, Variety reported.

It also did not take long for BLACKPINK to secure the record for the fastest music video to reach 100 million views on YouTube after it reached the milestone within the space of 32 hours, Koreatimes reported. The video currently has over 140 million views on the streaming platform.

BLACKPINK's How You Like That? also topped Billboard's fan poll for their favorite song of the week, with an astounding 72 percent of the vote. How You Like That? beat other entries like Charlie Puth's Girlfriend and Melanie Martinez's Fire Drill which ranked second and third place.

While the music video was met with huge success on YouTube, it also drew its fair share of criticism for one element featured in the video.

Fans trended the hashtag #YGapologise after they spotted an image of the Indian god Ganesha in one of Lisa's scenes in the music video, Koreaboo reported.

In the scene, the god's image was used as a prop and was haphazardly placed on the corner of the throne where the Thai rapper was sitting. Indian fans accused YG of cultural appropriation and for disrespecting Ganesha, one of the highest deities worshipped in India.

The god is considered a symbol of wisdom, protection and is also a patron of arts and sciences. In Indian culture, it is customary to place religious images in high surfaces to denote respect and fans took issue with the fact that the image was placed on the floor in the music video.
