When commoner Meghan Markle married real-life prince Prince Harry back in 2018, it was like a scene from a fairytale. Since most little girls dreamt of marrying a prince one day, the Duchess of Sussex made everyone believe that it is possible.
However, the lives of the Royal Family members are definitely far from what we see in the movies. And because of that, Meghan Markle’s friends have, reportedly, tried to warn her about what her life is going to be like if she will marry Prince Harry, but she was not having it.
“I told her she didn’t know what she was letting herself in for,” Meghan Markle’s former agent Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne told Daily Mail in October. She noted that the Duchess of Sussex was “naive” about the pressures of being a member of the Royal Family and how to deal with the press.
Meghan Markle admitted that British friends tried to warn her about Royal life, but Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne said that she “didn’t get it.” The Duchess of Sussex also shut down the topic when brought up, saying that she didn’t want to hear the “negativity.”
After tying the knot with Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan Markle faced the consequences of her decision as all of her friends’ concerns became a reality. The Duchess of Sussex was and still the favorite topic of critics, watching her every move and finding errors in it.
Just two years after their marriage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shocked the world by announcing that they will step down from their senior royal roles. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex explained that they wish to focus on their family and charities, be “financially independent,” and live a more peaceful life.
Meghan Markle’s brother Thomas Markle Jr. then said that his sister made “a joke of the Royal Family.” He believed that Prince Harry’s wife didn’t leave a positive impact at all.
Meghan Markle and Thomas Markle Jr.’s tensed relationship was proven even more when the latter wrote an open letter to Prince Harry, asking him to call off the wedding because his sister is not the right woman for him.
Thomas Markle Jr. is not the only member of the Markle clan that has publicly spoken about Prince Harry’s wife. In fact, their dad, Thomas Markle Sr. previously called the Duchess of Sussex “embarrassing” and revealed that she’s not the girl he raised.
