There is little doubt that there are only a few films that are currently in production due to the coronavirus outbreak shutdowns. However, it looks like Marvel fans finally have something to be excited about. A new report reveals that Spider-Man 3 is already set to resume filming in September. This means that Tom Holland could soon get back into action as Peter Parker.
It's no secret that the still-untitled Spider-Man 3 is one of the most highly-anticipated films next year. After all, there were initial concerns about the sequel being made when Sony decided to end its agreement with Disney and Marvel Studios on sharing the character. Luckily, a new deal was made and Marvel would produce the third movie in the ongoing Spider-Man franchise. Although things were expected to go smoothly from there, the project hit another speed bump when production was put to a halt due to the COVID-19 shutdowns.
Although filming is currently on hold, there might be some good news for fans. According to Comicbook.com, Marvel Studios and Disney are hoping to resume production on Spider-Man 3 by September. This means that Tom Holland could suit up again and get back into action as Peter Parker really soon. In addition to that, the early production start could assure fans that the sequel will not need to get a later release date in 2021.
For now, filming for Spider-Man 3 is expected to take place in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York, and Iceland. All of these locations have yet to announce whether film productions can resume in the near future. With that in mind, there is still a possibility that filming could not resume right away or the studios may decide on bringing the production to other locations that have now allowed filming. Hopefully, Disney and Marvel Studios will make an official announcement about the production soon.
Spider-Man 3 will once again be directed by Jon Watts while Tom Holland and Zendaya have been confirmed to reprise their roles as Peter Parker and MJ, respectively. The rest of the cast have not yet been announced. Likewise, the sequel's storyline has not yet been revealed. However, there is a huge possibility that the movie will see Peter dealing with the fact that his identity has been revealed in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Spider-Man 3 has not yet been given an official release date. Nevertheless, the film is already scheduled for release on November 5, 2021.
