With Meghan Markle's explosive revelations, a royal expert claimed that she might "lose control of her own narrative to the Palace." Prince Harry's wife recently revealed that she felt "unprotected" by the Royal Family after the continued media attacks she suffered when she was still pregnant with Archie.
In the leaked court documents she submitted for her case against the Associated Newspapers Limited, owner of the Mail Online and Mail on Sunday, she made a number of claims about the Royal Family. So, in a talk on the Loose Women, Jane Moore seemed to be certain that Meghan Markle "would lose control to the Palace" as a result of her action.
The 58-year-old journalist explained, via Mirror Online, how the Palace's press officers, who Princess Diana used to call as "Grey Men of the Palace," remain to be the main brain behind the Royal Family's perfectly "controlled" narrative. The TV presenter tried to sympathize with the Duchess of Sussex but suggested she should have done her research about the family she joined in.
Moore explained that each member of the Royal Family has their own "different set of the press." They are the ones who control the narrative, and it is not always about each of them. Although it is quite a cliché, the saying "never complain, never explain" remains to be the Palace's mantra until today.
The Loose Women panellist continued adding that she felt sorry for Meghan Markle. She believed the former actress was "shocked" by what she had learned from the Firm.
However, if she did her research, she should have never been surprised at all. Although Moore agreed that the former Suits star is "strong and feisty," she married an institution that got different set of rules.
E! News noted that in the court documents, Meghan Markle revealed how the Kensington Palace's guidelines made her feel "unprotected" over the tabloids' false stories and "damaging articles" about her. Her lawyers disclosed that the Royal Family traditions made her and her friends "feeling silenced."
The U.K. tabloid, especially the Mail on Sunday, often used her as the subject of false accusations and damaging news, resulting in "tremendous emotional distress" in her part. It also caused damage to her mental health.
Her friends had never seen her "in this state before." So, they could never help but to worry about her wellbeing, especially she was pregnant at the time, which made her more feeling Meghan Markle "unprotected" and even "prohibited" from defending herself.
