Meghan Markle is dipping her toes into producing a movie and it is a political film about a U.S. presidential candidate who is actually a Russian spy, reports revealed.

According to The Sun, the Duchess of Sussex entered into a deal with author Lloyd Scott to adapt her novel, Election Year. Sources said that Meghan Markle related to the lead charter in the book thus piquing her interest to make the film.

Election Year follows the story of a staff from the Senate, Maverick Johnson Malone, who tries to stop a presidential candidate, Suni Wainwright, from winning the U.S. elections. It is, reportedly, a battle to save America from the Russians.

Lloyd was, reportedly, telling friends about her deal with Meghan, citing that the Duchess of Sussex will be in contact with the right people to make this movie a huge success. However, Megan will not be acting in front of the cameras and won't be reviving her acting career.

Rather, Meghan Markle is resolved to work just behind the scenes for this film. She and Lloyd are, reportedly, closing the non-disclosure agreements for the project.

It comes as the Duchess of Sussex is, reportedly, considering a political career in the future. Sources told the Daily Mail that Meghan wants to use her voice and usher change, especially now that the social-political issue of systemic racism has been pushed to the forefront following the death of a Black man, George Floyd, at the hands of cops.

The source said that Meghan Markle has been speaking with thought leaders to learn how she can be part of a solution. The Duchess of Sussex is apparently more aware that her mission in life is beyond acting.

There were also reports that Meghan has goals of becoming the President of the United States. It was, allegedly, her dream as a budding teenager, before she charted her Hollywood career. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have also been quietly supporting the Stop Hate for Profit movement that asks major companies to stop advertising on Facebook, unless the platform moderates hate speech.

Currently, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are setting up their new foundation, Archewell. Its launch last April was pushed back due to the coronavirus. Sources said that the couple will likely unveil the plans and goals of the foundation, which will include their new advocacy on social injustice, by the end of the year or early 2021.
