Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have, reportedly, officially filed the paperwork to release their hold and claim on the Sussex Royal Foundation. The Duke of Sussex is also shifting focus on his eco-tourism advocacy Travalyst.

According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan have submitted the necessary documents for  the dissolution of the Sussex Royal foundation to the Companies House. It comes months after Queen Elizabeth decided that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should not be able to use their royal titles in their bid for independence from royal life.

An insider said that the Sussex Royal charity is now in its "period of solvent liquidation." The public record will be accessible in the coming days.

Prince Harry and Meghan were using Sussex Royal for their brand at the start of 2019, following their split from Prince William and Kate Middleton's The Royal Foundation. However, that same year, Prince Harry and Meghan were reportedly mulling over scaling back on their royal roles and becoming private income earning individuals.

In January 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan made their decision to leave their royal work public, causing Queen Elizabeth to call a summit with the Sussex royal, Prince Charles and Prince William at her Sandringham. There, it was decided that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may be allowed to step back but the Queen disallowed them from carrying their royal names to protect the monarchy.

By March, Prince Harry and Meghan formed Archewell to replace their Sussex Royal charity. However, the official launch of this charity was pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Around that same time, Prince Harry was also actively into Travalyst, touting environmental tourism. The Duke of Sussex apparently removed his His Royal Highness (HRH) designation on the official website, per his agreement with his grandmother, reports reveal.

Travalyst was established by Prince Harry and his partners to protect the environment while still making international travel sustainable. The initiative has tapped Booking.com, TripAdvisor, Skyscanner, Visa and Trip.com, which will provide a scoring and evaluating system for flights and accommodations to inform travelers of a certain company's sustainability practices.

The initiative, however, kicks off amid a global travel ban due to the pandemic. But as economies around the world slowly reopen, the number of people who will travel again is expected to rise as life goes back to normal.

Meanwhile, a statement from Buckingham Palace early this year indicated that Prince Harry and Meghan will no longer be using HRH because they are not working royals. Prince Harry has also been telling people to simply refer to him as "just Harry."

The small but significant omission signals Prince Harry and Meghan's push to move away from the royal world and chart their own path. The pair are currently based in Los Angeles, where they are reportedly trying to land business deals and networking.
