A recent leak could be the industry's first concrete evidence on the beefy specification of Apple's 2020 iMac. Many anticipated that the device's unveiling would take place at the company's annual WWDC, but that was not the case. A new report claims that the much-awaited launch of the 2020 iMac might happen sooner than earlier expected.

2020 iMac Rumored Specifications

The latest information about the rumored specifications of the 2020 iMac came from a Geekbench listing. An unnamed iMac housing an Intel Core i9-10910 CPU, was recently spotted by Tom's Hardware. The all-in-one Apple computer reportedly features an AMD Radeon Pro 5300 GPU.

This beefy configuration is beyond what the current generation of iMac is offering. Because of this, enthusiasts speculate that the Geekbench listing could be pointing to the 2020 iMac model. The Intel Core 19-10910 CPU alone is capable of offering 10 cores 20 threads. This particular model of processor is not available on the shelves since it is the customized version of the Intel Comet Lake-S i9-10900 chipset.

Meanwhile, the AMD Radeon Pro 5300 seemed to be the desktop version of the Radeon 5300M. While it is a good graphics card, it is not that phenomenal with the Geekbench, noting it offers 4GB onboard memory. The Pro series is usually intended for professionals for video rendering, CAD, and more.

2020 iMac Launch Could Be Very Soon

While the details about the 2020 iMac specifications are interesting, it is important to note that these are not official. With Apple still mum about its all-in-one computer, it is safe to take the latest information with a pinch of salt. Meanwhile, Macrumors recently reported that supplies of the 27-inch iMac still dwindle.

The publication noted that the mid and high-end stock configurations might start shipping in Sept 2020. The 60 days shipping estimate could get worse, but Wccftech believed that this is a good sign. The site claimed that it could be pointing to the sooner-than-expected launch of the 2020 iMac.

Additionally, the site claimed that the leaked Geekbench listing could also support the proximity of the launch of the 2020 iMac. It can be recalled that rumors about a refresh of the current generation iMac started to make rounds online last Mar. when industry insider CoinX said that a new model is arriving soon.

Another set of rumors popped up several weeks later, revealing that Apple would launch the 23-inch iMac and might release it in the second half of 2020. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman also reported earlier that a potentially redesigned iMac refresh could arrive in the later part of this year.
