Prince William and Harry are splitting the proceeds of the Princess Diana Memorial fund as they move forward separately in different paths. The Dukes of Cambridge and Sussex have agreed to this division as reported in the latest financial documents of The Royal Foundation.

In 2013, Prince William and Harry used to work under one charity, The Royal Foundation, which also took control of the Diana Fund, their deceased mother's charity. However, after Prince Harry decided to part ways and step back from his royal role with his wife, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, he also effectively relinquished his role in the foundation he formed with his brother and sister-in-law Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Documents from The Royal Foundation showed, however, that Prince Harry is still entitled to receive part of the proceeds from the Diana Fund. It cited that Prince William and Harry will divide their share of the organization's net income equally and the Duke of Sussex may donate his share to a charity of his own choosing.

Prince Harry, reportedly, asked that the money due him from this financial division should go to Sentable, the AIDS and HIV foundation he co-founded with some friends. The Duke of Sussex has yet to establish Archewell, his new foundation to replace the Sussex Royal Foundation he formed with Meghan in 2019, thus he decided that the money should go to one of his other causes for he meantime.

Prince Harry and Meghan recently formally and legally shut down the Sussex Royal Foundation by filing the paperwork with the Companies House. The record of liquidation should be made available online and in public in the coming days, according to a source. Prince Harry will continue to oversee the Sussex Royal Foundation until the liquidation and dissolution process is finalized.

Meanwhile, the Diana Fund has not had any fundraising efforts for some time but the new arrangement between Prince William and Harry now say that they will split the future proceeds of the charity. Apparently, the foundation still occasionally receives donations and in recent years had at least $26,319, per The Guardian

The financial split is actually a good indication that the royal brothers are carefully dividing what is due them as they carry on with their different advocacies and live their separate lives. Prince Harry is now based in Los Angeles with Meghan. Sources said that behind the headlines, Prince William and Harry have actually reconciled and are often making video calls to each other
