Once again, Piers Morgan hit out at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for, allegedly, attacking Queen Elizabeth II with their recent video call to talk about equality. The veteran journalist went on a furious rant in an episode of Good Morning Britain, accusing the Duke of Sussex of "looking like a hostage" when the Sussexes took part in a Commonwealth Trust video chat.
Morgan believed that Prince Harry's comments were a "political fight" against the Queen when he said they must "acknowledge the Commonwealth's uncomfortable past." Their statement didn't just anger the television personality but other loyal royalists, too.
According to The Sun, the 55-year-old broadcaster said he was trying to be fair. However, the fact that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are living in a Hollywood mansion and lecturing the world how things should be and saying it's time to be "uncomfortable" is ironic.
Morgan is convinced that the couple is the "most comfortable people in the world." Although it's fine for them to leave their royal lives to do their own thing in Hollywood because it's their decision, they shouldn't attack the Commonwealth and Her Majesty.
He then explained that Meghan and Prince Harry are "picking a proper political fight" that put them back in the news, which they seem to truly hate. Surely, they will be criticized, but he said they would play the victim. If they start to question people that will condemn them, he added that the circus would begin.
Morgan's co-host, Susanna Reid, tried to defend the two, even praising their move to use their platform to talk about important issues. However, Morgan seemed not to mind.
He continued with his rant, adding that they wanted to tell everyone how they should behave and live their lives while they are living comfortably in a mansion. The host also criticized their video, describing it as just noise, no substance, and only "general virtue signal."
Tory MP Andrew Rosindell supported Morgan's claim, saying Prince Harry's comments were "disappointing" and would not please Queen Elizabeth. He told Daily Mail that he was surprised that Prince William's brother would say such a thing after stepping back as a member of the Royal Family.
Rosindell strongly disagreed with his comments. He believed everyone should look forward and not return to the past.
After he stepped down as a senior royal, the British Conservative politician suggested he should focus on his own life and never be involved in politics. He continued that it was not the right thing for Prince Harry to do. Queen Elizabeth might not be too pleased, either.
