Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, apparently tries to avoid getting together with her son, Tom Parker Bowles, in the kitchen. The wife of Prince Charles said that it's where her biggest arguments with her first-born happen a lot of the time.
The Duchess of Cornwall and her son were the special guests in The Emma Barnett Show on BBC Radio 5 Live recently. Camilla said that Tom is such a very good cook but they differ a lot when it comes to their taste buds and their way of doing things.
Tom agreed that that he doesn't get along with his mother in the kitchen because he loves everything spicy and full of chilies as a food critic. The Duchess of Cornwall, on the other hand, has a taste that's just too plain for Tom.
Camilla also complains a lot in the kitchen, according to her son. Because she used to cook while Tom was growing up, the duchess had her own ways in the kitchen, which is different from Tom's. So, to avoid a fight, Tom said that they don't cook or prepare meals together.
The food critic is Camilla's son with her ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles. Tom is quite the successful food expert and author with seven cookbooks to his name. He has two children with wife, Sara Buys -- Lola and Freddy -- whom the Duchess of Cornwall said she misses hugging very much because of the stay-at-home orders.
Camilla said that she stays in touch with family members during the lockdown via the internet. The royal admits that she was not a big fan of the digital platform in the beginning but she had to learn how to use it because it was the only way to stay up to date with her kids and grandkids amid the coronavirus restrictions.
Tom shared that his children have actually been playing games on the internet with their grandmother. They often have trivia games using the Houseparty app.
Meanwhile, in the same interview, the Duchess of Cornwall also talked about two of her most favorite things in the world -- her dogs, Beth and Bluebell. Camilla said that the reason she loves dog so much is because they will always be ready to listen with their tails wagging, whether it's a short or long conversation.
The Duchess of Cornwall's dogs are two Jack Russells, which she adopted in 2011 and 2012 from the Battersea Dogs & Cats. Camilla also frequents the animal charity, as one of their patrons.
In a statement, the members of the Battersea Dogs & Cats said that they have always considered the Duchess of Cornwall as a dear friend and supporter of animals. The fact that she rehomed Beth and Bluebell from the charity makes Camilla a special part of the charity.
