A new book about the Royal Family revealed that the alleged real reason behind Queen Elizabeth II's absence from the christening of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Although it was widely reported that Her Majesty had a prior commitment, that's why she didn't make it; some said she decided not to go because of her distaste for the Duchess of Sussex.

A lot of controversies surrounded Archie's christening. Aside from the fact that only a few select presses were able to attend the event, Queen Elizabeth was also not there.

According to News.com.au, the Queen had a prior commitment that she had to attend to at the time. In her seven decades as the monarch, everyone knows how dedicated she is to her work, so it's not a surprise.

Although this seems to be a valid reason, something is said to be a "little peculiar" about it. The publication noted that if any member of the Royal Family is about to hold an important event, they have to check Her Royal Highness' schedule first.

In the book Royals at War, journalists Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett claimed that Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, who was also not there at the christening, allegedly, chose to stay away. An alleged palace insider said that although they had been "generous and understanding" as best as possible, they, reportedly, felt publicly embarrassed by Meghan's so-called "controlling behavior."

Anyhow, it's good to note that the leader of the Commonwealth also didn't make it to the christening of Prince William and Kate Middleton's youngest son, Prince Louis. At the time, she was said to be conserving her energy ahead of an upcoming busy week.

A year after Archie's christening, Queen Elizabeth's relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle remain a hot topic, NZ Herald noted. Things even got more controversial when the former actress revealed in her court documents against the Daily Mail's parent company that she felt "undefended by the institution" when she was still pregnant.

She also claimed that she was "prohibited from defending herself" against the malicious news about her. If this is not enough controversy, Prince Andrew's name is again back in the headlines after Ghislaine Maxwell's arrest.

A photo of Maxwell and the equally controversial Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey, lounging on Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's thrones, even emerged. The snap was, reportedly, taken inside the Buckingham Palace, where Prince Andrew said to allow them to take a tour.
