The New York Knicks are rebuilding, and there is a lot to be done. Newly installed president Leon Rose faces a big task ahead with most expecting major personnel changes. The Knicks do have a crop of promising players, but it remains they need a proven cager that can help them break out of their slump. Curiously, the name of Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns somehow got into the picture.

In an article from the New York Post, Sam Bergman came up with the idea of Booker possibly landing in Gotham. He did provide valid points, mostly associating the 23-year-old with Rose and his circle. Rose acted as the player-agent for Booker, and those ties could be considered a spark to see the 13th overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft.

Aside from that, there is William Wesley, who could influence such a move. Wesley has links to Kentucky coach John Calipari, someone Booker played for in college. That could be a point of reference, knowing influences could sway Booker to make a jump. However, seeing that happen in the immediate future does not look so bright.

The thought of Booker moving to the Knicks was raised to an unnamed executive via SNY.tv. He responded to the possibility in three letters: "LOL." Of course, in internet lingo, that means laughing out loud. Considering Booker is the face of the Suns right now, not to mention someone who is under contract for the next four seasons, the thought alone could be ridiculous.

Finally, there is an angle where Booker wants to start winning. Based on how the Knicks and the Suns have performed thus far, they may be far from achieving that. But looking at it closely, Phoenix may have a better chance of improvement compared to New York. The Suns do have the assets in place, and these players could develop that chemistry soon. That task falls on the shoulders of head coach Monty Williams.

For the Knicks, Rose has a heavy load ahead. He has yet to name his new head coach though interviews have already begun. Aside from that, there are players in the mix who may come or go. RJ Barrett is expected to be kept, someone who has shown promise. But aside from him, the future of other players is uncertain.

The Knicks are expected to rebuild (again). But they cannot move forward until they get a new head coach to call the shots. Tom Thibodeau has been mentioned as one of their targets, but other names may be considered.

On a possible Booker coming, that may happen. But it may take not less than two years for that go down unless New York offers something Phoenix will find hard to refuse.
