Tom Selleck has been in showbiz for decades. But new rumor emerged that the veteran actor has been planning to leave Hollywood for good and will release a tell-all memoir.

Star published a cover story this week claiming Selleck is about to exit his long-running TV series Blue Bloods. It added that the actor decided to give more time to his family and settle for a quiet life at his ranch.

A source of the tabloid claimed Selleck is considering stepping away from the spotlight as he has enough savings to retire from acting and has already accomplished what he wanted. The actor, allegedly, would like to spend time with his family and do more outdoor activities at his ranch in California.

Selleck launched his career in Hollywood in the 60s. He rose to fame when he landed a lead role as private investigator Thomas Magnum in Magnum P.I.

Star added that Selleck is currently focusing on his highly anticipated memoir, which it claimed included some "bombshell" secrets that even his most avid fans don't know about. It alleged that the actor would reveal in his biography, not those he kissed but instead, those he didn't.

Gossip Cop debunked the claim that Selleck is stepping away from celebrity life. The publication noted that the actor is still in contract to play Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in Blue Bloods.

Moreover, there is no indication that Frank Reagan is hanging the uniform soon or Blue Bloods is wrapping up. In fact, it's the opposite. CBS renewed the series in May for Season 11.

In his recent interview with People Magazine, Selleck also admitted that the series could run for more years. He said there are a lot of stories to tell as the characters grow and get older.

As to her memoir, Gossip Cop clarified that Selleck is not writing an autobiography that will reveal "bombshell" secrets. It is true that the actor is set to drop a memoir but it was described as an "inspirational" look into Selleck's life as an actor.

Gossip Cop noted that this wasn't the first false report about Selleck. A year ago, the outlet also dismissed a report published by Star's sister publication, the National Enquirer. It claimed Selleck was leaving Blue Bloods because he was dying

It alleged that Selleck was "falling apart" while filming certain scenes. It added that it came to the point that he needed a stunt double. A spokesperson for Selleck assured that the Three Men and a Baby actor is perfectly healthy and he was not leaving the show.
