Borussia Dortmund is fully aware that Jadon Sancho could leave by the summer and are preparing for it. But before considering options, Die Borussen has made it clear that the only way the English winger is leaving Signal Iduna Park is if their asking fee for the 20-year-old football player is met. This means unless they get the $141 million in any deal, they are not budging.

Sancho remains under contract with Dortmund, and the club would want to keep him as much as they can. But according to Sports Director Michael Zorc, the German club will only budge if that hefty fee is met. Hence, clubs like Manchester United are planning to negotiate that asking price may have to find ways to raise funds if they are bent on taking in Sancho.

"To think about anything else at all, the timing would have to be right, and secondly, our price expectations would have to be met 100%," Zorc said to Waz.

Manchester United had already set a ceiling price they are willing to spend on Sancho. They will spend no more than $61 million, a move that could take them out of the race if they are firm on that stance. However, anything can happen moving forward. Also, it is worth noting that there are other teams interested in the football player. Among the clubs who have shown interest in Sancho include Manchester City and Liverpool.

But like United, City and The Reds are likely to think twice. They have not been spared from the financial problems raised by the COVID-19 pandemic. All teams are careful about spending heftily, and some are likely to hold off any big investment this coming summer. With Sancho still under contract for another year, this could be the likely option that would be good news for Dortmund.

Regardless if Sancho leaves or not, Zorc admitted that they are already preparing for the inevitable. They have several targets in mind, although they have not revealed their names. Either way, Dortmund is ready moving forward - with or without Sancho.

On the side of United, it will be interesting if that $61 million ceiling offer will stand. A recourse would be to sell some of their players. Among the names that the Red Devils are reportedly open to selling include Alexis Sanchez, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Jesse Lingard, and Diogo Dalot. Some have been linked, but nothing has gone past the rumor stages.
