Selena Gomez and Orlando Bloom were rumored to have dated each other in 2016. Now, a rumor indicated that Gomez already cut ties with the Lord of The Rings actor as he awaits the arrival of his first child with Katy Perry.
The National Enquirer published a story this week claiming Gomez has told Bloom to "lose her number." The tabloid alleged Perry's fiance has been infatuated with Selena since he was spotted chatting with the songstress back in 2016. The incident sparked speculations that the two were dating.
This was around the same time Bloom began dating Perry before the two split up in 2018. The couple has since reunited and is expecting in September their first baby together. But a source of the tabloid claimed the Pirates of the Caribbean actor's fling with Selena remained a "sore point" for Katy.
The National Enquirer alleged Gomez told Bloom to "lose her number." However, it shifted its story and alleged it was Orlando who put an end to his flirting fest with the "Rare" singer.
It was Orlando who, reportedly, wanted to cut ties with Selena to show Perry that he is fully committed to their relationship. It added that the actor changed from the shameless flirt he was before Katy got pregnant. The tabloid source continued by saying Bloom is now ignoring Gomez's text messages after he explained to her that it is inappropriate for them to talk even as friends.
Gossip Cop debunked the story. It stressed that the National Enquirer has no solid proof to support its claim just like the previous allegation of its sister publication, In Touch, about the trio.
Back in September 2019, In Touch claimed Perry and Bloom were fighting over the latter's secret communication with the "Lose You To Love Me" singer. It also claimed that Katy put their wedding on hold after she discovered the secret exchange of messages between Orlando and Selena.
Gossip Cop dismissed the story then and now. Gomez's spokesperson also previously confirmed that the former Disney Channel star hasn't been in touch with Bloom.
The publication added that Orlando and Selena never dated and Katy herself dismissed the rumors that the actor cheated on her. There is also no feud between Gomez and the "Daisies" singer. In fact, it's the opposite.
Shortly after Gomez had a kidney transplant in 2017, Perry sent a sweet message to Selena on Instagram. In her post, the "Roar" singer told Selena that she loved her heart and authenticity.
