The CEO of Woollim Entertainment recently apologized for his behavior towards INFINITE's Woohyun and Sunggyu.
In his statement, Woollim CEO Lee Jong Yeop expressed his sincere apology for his inappropriate words and actions during the Instagram Live of Woohyun, All Kpop reported.
It can be recalled that Woollim's CEO received a flood of criticism after fans witnessed him hitting the head of Woohyun and using foul language against Sunggyu.
Lee Jong Yeop said that his behavior was uncalled for and upon review of the content, he said that he should not have behaved in such a way to the INFINITE members no matter how close they were.
He said that he apologized to Woohyun and Sunggyu and reiterated his regret and contrition to those who felt uncomfortable watching the live stream. He promised to be more mindful of his actions in the future.
Fans were divided over the issue of whether the CEO stepped over the line after watching him interact with INFINITE's Woohyun and Sunggyu outside of a work setting.
During the Instagram Live broadcast, the trio was shown having drinks and relaxing outdoors. Fans saw him slap Woohyun at the back of the head and the artist playfully told the audience that the CEO does this. He also took off his hat to show his head to the viewers.
He teased his CEO by saying that this situation was the worst and Lee Jong Yeop replied by saying that his face is the worst.
The CEO was also heard saying that Sunggyu just did not want to interact with the fans when the artist said that he had to cut the broadcast short because of a microphone issue.
Sunggyu quickly denied it and said that he spent three hours interacting with fans the day before. The CEO was also heard using foul language when he teased Woohyun and Sunngyu that their faces were 80 kg. However, all three of them were laughing even as they argued about language.
While some fans took the video seriously, others said that the actions should be taken lightly since they were friends who were joking around, another report by All Kpop indicated.
Some were offended over the CEO's casual behavior towards his artists while some said that this was what happens when the head of the company maintains a close relationship with his artists.
