The delay of Wonder Woman 1984 may have been expected due to the coronavirus outbreak. But, it looks like DC fans might be getting some comfort over the long wait for the Warner Bros. film.

DC Comics has just confirmed that the highly anticipated sequel will be getting a special one-shot comic that will serve as the prequel to the DCEU flick. This means that fans can find out what Diana Prince was doing before the events in the upcoming installment. In addition to that, the new comics may have confirmed that Gal Gadot's character will actually be reunited with her lost love even before he returns in the movie.

DC Comics confirmed the special one-shot comic book titled Wonder Woman 1984 #1, which will feature two awesome stories. The cover art is by Nicola Scott, who has previously worked on several Wonder Woman comics.

The first story in Wonder Woman 1984 #1 will serve as a direct tie-in to the upcoming film. It is co-written by 1984 associate producer Anna Obropta and Wonder Woman: Warbringer writer Louise Simonson while the illustrations are  made by Bret Blevins.

"When a failed burglary attempt causes a hostage situation at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, Diana Prince is forced to leave her teenage tour group behind so that Wonder Woman can save the day! But will she be able to bring 10 gunmen to justice and get back to her tour group in time?" the premise of the story read.

There's something interesting about the second story, which is being described as "a 1980s flashback." Written by Steve Pugh and illustrated by Marguerite Sauvage, the description for the story confirms Diana Prince will have an early reunion with someone she lost in the past.

"In the '80s, 'greed is good,' especially if you have it all! A reckless mastermind has made the ultimate power move by stealing Wonder Woman's golden Lasso of Truth, and it's up to Diana and Steve Trevor to get it back before the worst happens!" the description reads.

It has already been confirmed that Chris Pine will reprise his role as Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman 1984 even after the character was killed on in the 2017 film. Although it is unclear just how Steve will be brought back, there is a huge possibility that this will be revealed in the prequel comics.

Wonder Woman 1984 #1 will be released on September 20. Meanwhile, the film is, currently, scheduled for release on October 2.
