Dr. Mary L. Trump, PhD, a practicing clinical psychologist and president Donald Trump's only niece, affirms in her hit bestselling book -- and on TV -- her uncle is a sociopath and a deeply damaged man psychologically.

She's the author of the hit, 211-page book about her uncle and his family with the title, Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man. The book, which began being sold only on July 14, sold an incredible 950,000 copies on its first official day of sales, which is a record for Simon & Schuster, the book's publisher. The book is currently No. 1 on Amazon's bestseller list.

It's staggering and record-setting sales illustrates the intense public interest in Dr. Trump's tell-all tale about Donald Trump's dysfunctional family, and his upbringing at the hands of his sociopathic father, Fred Trump Sr.

"Donald is a psychologically deeply damaged man, based on his upbringing and the situation with his parents," she said to TV host Chris Cuomo Friday on "Cuomo Prime Time" on CNN. "He is not going to get better and he is without question going to get worse."

Dr. Trump again described her uncle as a racist. She said her uncle isn't anti-science but will ignore facts to spout his preferred narrative.

She pointed out her uncle knows what he's doing on some levels, which seems to suggest her uncle doesn't know what he's doing most of the time. Her uncle also seems to be buckling under the immense pressures he now faces, she said.

"I think one of the reasons he's sort of unraveling a bit now is because what he's always done in the past, that used to work, isn't really working as effectively anymore, so it has him scrambling a bit," said Dr. Trump.

She pointed out understanding her uncle's psychology is irrelevant "compared to what he's doing, that's what we need to focus on." She did admit it's extremely useful in some ways to understand her uncle's psychology.

During an interview on ABC News on July 15, Dr. Trump said her uncle is completely incapable of leading this country. She also said it's dangerous to allow him to do so. She called on him to resign

In her book, Dr. Trump describes her uncle as an adult man with the mind of a three year old assailed by a range of mental disorders. Based on her clinical experience, Dr. Trump said her uncle today "is much as he was at three years old: incapable of growing, learning, or evolving, unable to regulate his emotions, moderate his responses, or take in and synthesize information."

Dr. Trump said Trump the president meets all nine criteria needed to be diagnosed as a narcissist. She warned a second term for her uncle "would be the end of American democracy."
