The World of the Married star Han So Hee, recently, responded to allegations that her mother scammed several people who paid her private fund or gye.
It can be recalled that a blog post, recently, emerged accusing Han So Hee's mother of scamming 40 million won worth of gye paid by several individuals between 2015 and 2016.
According to the blogger, the woman started a private fund wherein members deposited a small amount of money and took turns receiving the lump sum, Soompi reported.
However, when her turn came to receive the money, the blogger said she was informed by Han So Hee's mother that she no longer had the money because she already used it.
She was given a promissory note, saying that Han So Hee's mother would pay her back the amount on a monthly basis. However, she later lost contact with the actress' mother after the latter changed her phone number.
Over the past couple of years, the blogger said that she would receive irregular payments of 100,000 or 300,000 won. However, she has yet to receive the remaining 9.7 million won that she was owed.
The blogger said that, at first, she wanted to get her money back but, now, she just wanted to make public what this celebrity's mother was doing.
In response, Han So Hee apologized to all of her mother's victims and said that she only started learning about her mother's debts when she turned 20.
The actress said she grew up with her grandmother when her parents divorced and had very little contact with her mother. She explained that she paid as much of her mother's debts as she could before she made her debut because she believed it was her responsibility to the daughter of the woman who raised her.
Han So Hee said, however, that, even after her debut, she learned that her mother incurred more unpaid debts and just found out that she had borrowed money in her daughter's name. The artist said she had no knowledge that her mother was using her name in debt documents and that she was being involved in debt so large that she could not handle it.
She said she regretted paying her mother's earlier debts because it caused her to victimize more people.
Meanwhile, Han So Hee has been offered the role of an undercover police officer in Netflix's new drama Undercover, which will be helmed by Extracurricular director Kim Jin Min, Soompi reported.
