Melania Trump was a model even before she met and married Donald Trump. Her fashion style has been impeccable and many praised her for that. But, many noticed how her style changed before and after her husband won the 2016 elections.

According to style expert Gianni Casagrande, Melania started to make changes in her fashion style shortly after she met Trump at a party in New York in 1998. At the time, Melania primarily made changes to her style just to make sure that she will still stand out whenever she's with the then real estate mogul.

Casagrande said there were more changes in Melania's way of dressing up since Trump's inauguration in 2017 but not many noticed that it all started much earlier. He said FLOTUS got inspired to update her style when Trump first showed interest in politics in 2000.

He told Express that the 50-year-old mother of one moved away from a fun-loving party girl to a serious political figure. Casagrande said, while Melania's look became more conservative, she still made an effort to stand out.

To do that, she kept a few of her signature features. This includes her form-fitting wardrobe, bright colors, and glamorous accessories. He explained that the first lady's style choices showed that she isn't someone that would just let herself fade into the background.

He said Melania is not afraid to strike a balance between elegant and sexy. Once in a while, she goes for an off-the-shoulder look or a thigh split, which are nods to her previous fashion style. Gianni added Melania also pairs her outfit with smoldering eye make-up and wavy locks, which are also her signature features.

Meanwhile, Melania Trump's most recent outing where her outfit was analyzed by both critics and supporters was when she visited the Engine Company 9 fire station in Washington, D.C. last week. She gave away face masks and boxed lunches at the station.

FLOTUS shared several photos of her with the firefighters. In the photos, it can be observed that she was channeling a casual-chic look for that day.

Melania was photographed clad in a $139 shirt dress from Rachel Roy. She paired it with Roger Vivier's Gommetine leather ballet flats.

A few weeks back, she accompanied the president at Mount Rushmore for the celebration of Independence Day. Melania Trump wore a $3,840 Alexander McQueen's asymmetric ivory sleeveless dress and a Christian Louboutin black leather pumps. Her dress, particularly, caught the attention of everyone as it featured a Dancing Girls print.
