Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are making a fresh start in the U.S. after they officially stepped down from being senior royals at the end of March. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are, then, heavily speculated to be joining the Hollywood scene.

Since Meghan Markle was an actress before tying the knot with Prince Harry, it wasn’t a hard bet to picture her and her husband to go to that direction after their royal exit. However, a royal expert is warning the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that their Hollywood life will not be as safe as when they were still living in the UK.

"In California, it is obviously the world of celebrity, and in America, it's unlike the UK in that there aren't the same restrictions on libel. Freedom of speech means that you can photograph people on the street, there isn't the same level of protection of famous people,” Entertainment Industry reporter for the LA Times Anousha Sakoui said.

After the tragic death of Princess Diana in 1997, Anousha Sakoui explained that a lot of celebrities "fought back" against press intrusion. The People’s Princess died in a car crash in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris while the driver was trying to avoid the paparazzi.

The legislation was also pushed to protect celebrity children from being photographed without their parents’ permission. The law was even expanded to include drones.

This is exactly what Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were trying to avoid. One of the reasons why they decided to quit royal life is to be away from the spotlight as much as possible. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex clearly said that they would want to live a “peaceful life” outside the royal family, and their main goal is to protect their son Archie from the dangers of being a public figure.

But just because Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have already stepped down from their roles, that does not mean that people are not interested in them anymore. In fact, their relocation to Los Angeles didn’t save them from being followed by the media.

A previous report even revealed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were fearful of Archie’s safety after their Los Angeles home was surrounded by drones. At least five drone-related incidents occurred in recent weeks, and some were flying as low as 20 feet over their home.

It is believed that the drones were operated by paparazzi. The incident was also treated as a potential terrorist threat.
