Prince Charles will be assuming the British throne after his mother, Queen Elizabeth. However, the Prince of Wales doesn't have what it takes to be a good king, as assessed by royal fans.

According to a report, Prince Charles won't make a good leader because he is selfish. From cheating on his wife, Princess Diana, to his privileged life and to rarely putting other people first before him, the general assessment was that the Prince of Wales can't be a good king as he does not connect with his subjects.

poll from 2018 also revealed that the British people would rather have someone else become king than Prince Charles. Only nine percent think that the heir to the throne should take the crown, while people mostly preferred Prince Harry (42%), the sixth in line to the throne, or Prince William (30%), the second in line to the throne.

Another poll said that nearly half of the people would like Prince Charles to pass the crown to his son, Prince William. The public, apparently, loves the picture-perfect image that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge evoke thus it would make sense they are the favorites.

Despite moving on from the past, the British, apparently, can't forgive and forget Prince Charles treated Princess Diana during their marriage. For this reason, the public also apparently do not want Camilla to become the Queen once Prince Charles becomes the King of England. For 20% of the public, Prince Charles' second wife is still regarded as "the other woman."

In the book Rebel Prince, author Tom Bower said that Prince Charles is rather an uncaring and petty grown man. He has tantrums and rants in private that would likely damage his reputation if the public found out his demanding nature.

The public also sees Prince Charles as a snob, who doesn't have the warmth and charisma as Princess Diana or his sons. However, defenders of the heir said that he grew up amid strict protocols expected from the next in line to the throne thus he is not always eager to relate to the common folk.

Royal fans also believe that Prince Charles won't do a good job as much as his mother, who has been on the throne for 67 years. Despite his mature age, the public, apparently, does not hink that the Prince of Wales can rise to the occasion, whereas Queen Elizabeth has proven this so many times before.
