Fans are still waiting for The Witcher Season 2 but there's already a new show that's being developed and will be set in the same universe. But, is it possible that the upcoming prequel series will still feature some familiar faces from the original Netflix show?

There are speculations that Henry Cavill will appear in the highly anticipated show. Interestingly, there are several ways that the new series can bring in the Justice League actor although it takes place several centuries before the birth of Geralt of Rivia.

It was previously reported that Netflix is already developing the spin-off series The Witcher: Blood Origins, which will take place 1200 years before the events in the original show. The series will reveal how the world of men, elves, and monsters came together, resulting in the birth of the First Witcher.

The prequel will only have six episodes which are currently being developed by The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and Declan de Barra. But, what are the chances that Geralt of Rivia will make an appearance?

One of the easy ways to bring in Henry Cavill to reprise his role as Geralt of Rivia would be to introduce flashforward scenes. These sequences may reveal certain similarities between the First Witcher and the White Wolf. In addition to that, some believe that Geralt himself might be the one telling the story of the First Witcher and that the entire The Witcher prequel will actually be a huge flashback. On the other hand, there is a possibility that the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star could appear in the past storyline.

One theory suggests that The Witcher: Blood Origins will cast Henry Cavill as the First Witcher himself as a way to draw some parallels between the character and Geralt of Rivia. It is even suggested that the White Wolf might be a descendant of the First Witcher, who may not have been as gravely mutated and infertile as the succeeding ones.

On the other hand, the prequel series might decide to cast a completely new actor to portray the character. Nevertheless, fans are hoping that Cavill will somehow make an appearance in the new show.

The Witcher: Blood Origins has not yet made any casting announcements and little is known about the show's premise. However, more details could be revealed before the end of the year. In the meantime, The Witcher Season 2 is currently in production and is expected to premiere on Netflix by 2021.
