Juventus captured the Serie A title at the end of the season with Cristiano Ronaldo and it seemed the Portuguese superstar is shooting for a third crown next season. After winning his second Scudetto, Ronaldo dropped hints on social media that he intends to get his third with the Turin giants.

The 35-year-old lifted the Serie A trophy on Saturday and proclaimed on Instagram shortly the plan to get his hands on the same honor next season. His words amounted to a confirmation that Juventus will continue to see him in the upcoming campaign.

"Happy to win the last two of the nine consecutive Serie A titles for Juventus ... It seems easy but it isn't. Year after year with talent, dedication, and hard work you can achieve your goals and be better than before! Let's go for my third," Goal reported Ronaldo as saying.

The post ran in counter with the reports that suggested the striker could soon move out of the Old Lady despite an existing contract that will not expire until 2022. Ronaldo leaving the Italian side initially floated around in the immediate aftermath of the coronavirus lockdown that resulted in the suspension of the football season in March.

Like all clubs in Europe, the Italians were losing money, and selling the superstar was thought of as an immediate solution to raise cash.

Then there's the story circulating that all is not well between Ronaldo and Juve boss Maurizio Sarri, and getting out of Italy is the option seen by the Portuguese to resolve the situation.

When the games were resumed in June, the rumors of Ronaldo's departure from Juventus were further fired up by the social media postings of his sister, Elma Aveiro. The latter, according to The Mirror, was highly critical of Sarri's gameplay during the Copa Italia final match.

Juventus lost to Napoli on that game and Aveiro urge her brother to "keep your head up," and insisted the defeat was not his fault.

But now that Juventus had claimed the Scudetto for the ninth time in the same number of years, all the grumblings seemed to have disappeared. Ronaldo said he is excited to see the side grab the same title next year and with him on the roster.

Making that happen is not impossible at all with the way the Juventus forward is playing. The Portuguese scored 21 goals for Juventus last season and he upgraded that to 31 this year, indicating that Ronaldo is far from slowing down.

The more immediate goal for him though is to lead Juventus past Lyon in the Champions League match on Friday. The French side leads the tie at 1-0 and overturning the deficit could power the Old Lady to a deeper run in the competition and possible title win after more than two decades.
