For Borussia Dortmund, the deadline to sign Jadon Sancho has already ended and the door is now closed on the pursuing Manchester United. The Red Devils, however, are convinced that the story is far from over and they still look forward to sealing a deal before the close of the summer transfer window.

Amid the reports that Sancho has agreed in personal terms to make the switch to Old Trafford next season, United seemingly failed to argue for the release of the Bundesliga sensation. The August 10 deadline set by BVB has passed and the Germans said the 20-year-old will remain on their side for the upcoming campaigns.

United, however, will not be dropping out of the transfer talks, at least not yet. Goal reported that the Premier League club is still looking to complete the deal before the summer transfer negotiations come to an end.

That should mean United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will still attempt to make his case with Dortmund and Sancho until October 5, the day that all dealings between football clubs have to cease.

Per the same report, the talks between the German and English sides have been frustrating on the latter's part so far. It appeared that the most contentious point of the discussions is the transfer fee demanded by Dortmund, said to be fixed at £108 million.

But Solskjaer's side balked at the thought of paying that much for the England international, insisting that the player's value is unrealistic given the prevailing market condition.

It would appear that the position taken by United on the matter is to wait and see. At the same time, the Red Devils have made clear that walking away from the transfer talks is an option if Dortmund will keep to the price tag attached to Sancho.

As things stand though on the German side, making adjustments for Sancho to leave for England is not in the immediate consideration. Metro reported on Monday that the Dortmund ace will continue with his current team for next season.

"We plan on having Jadon Sancho in our team this season ... The decision is final. I think that answers all of the questions," Michael Zorc, Dortmund's sporting director, was reported as saying.

Zorc likewise revealed that the player's salary with the club has been adjusted last year and the new pay package will serve as an extension deal for Sancho, whose performance in the recently concluded season attracted the attention of big clubs such as Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

If Zorc's claims will prove correct, Sancho is now tied up with Dortmund until 2023 and his market value will only go higher heading to the upcoming transfer windows.
