Netizens want the production of tVn's Day and Night to fire AOA's Seolhyun from the drama because of her involvement in AOA's bullying controversy.
According to a report by All Kpop, netizens are asking Day and Night's production to replace Seolhyun with a new actress after her role in the bullying of former AOA member Mina was revealed. Mina's recent revelations pointed towards AOA leader Jimin as the bully but she, constantly, referred to Jimin's best friend Seolhyun as a bystander, who did nothing while she watched the abuse take place.
During Mina's stay with AOA, she revealed that she tried to take her life multiple times because she could not take Jimin's abusive language and behavior.
In one post, Mina said that she tried to talk to Seolhyun about her predicament but Seolhyun did nothing to intercede on Mina's behalf. Mina said that her indifference to the abuse made Seolhyun just as guilty at Jimin.
Last weekend, Mina once again attempted to commit suicide and posted an alarming image of her fresh attempts to harm herself on social media. In her post, Mina called out Jimin, FNC, and Seolhyun and said that if she dies, they should compensate her family a lot for the emotional distress Mina's traumatic experience has brought them.
FNC Entertainment, previously, announced that Jimin left AOA and retired from promotions in the entertainment industry after the scandal. They, also, released a public apology to Mina after her recent suicide attempt and expressed regret for the criticism and misunderstanding among members of AOA.
For her part, Seolhyun did not escape criticism throughout the controversy because of her known closeness to Jimin. Her social media posts have been flooded by hate comments from people who called her out for watching everything happen right before her eyes.
In response to demands for Seolhyun's dismissal from Day and Night, the production team said that they have no plans of recasting Seolhyun's role in the drama.
The drama's production team said that, despite the public's reservations about Seolhyun and the negative publicity her presence in Day and Night was causing, they would not replace her because they already filmed a big part of the drama. They further said that there will be no change in the drama's roster unless Seolhyun steps down on her own.
