BTS Jimin's recent tweet reached one million likes in less than two hours. The feat earned him a new record on Twitter.
According to a report by All Kpop, Jimin's simple tweet of two selcas (selfies) while wishing fans a good night was liked by one million fans in the space of an hour and 43 minutes.
The astounding feat earned Jimin a spot in the list of fastest tweets to reach one million likes. He, now, holds the record of being the fourth fastest tweet to reach the milestone, next only to BTS and Harry Styles.
Apart from earning a new record, Jimin, also, trended for two keywords on the day's top trending topics. "Jiminie" became the eighth-most tweeted topic while "Park Jimin," also, trended in the ninth position.
Jimin's fellow BTS member V also achieved his own milestone on Instagram.
According to a report by Koreaboo, V became the first Korean male celebrity to reach 5 million likes on a single Instagram photo. The photo reached the milestone in just 47 hours.
The photo was, recently, uploaded on Big Hit official's Instagram page and revealed V's new hair color for BTS' upcoming comeback this August.
ARMYs loved the photo so much that it was also flooded by over 150,000 comments. This made the image the second most commented photo on the big Hit's Instagram page, next to the BTS Map of the Soul group concept photo that had over 200,000 comments.
BTS is, currently, busy preparing for the release of their new single "Dynamite" on August 21. "Dynamite" will be BTS' first full English single.
According to the members, they are excited to reach out to the world with their new music because the upbeat track can uplift the spirits of their fans, who are suffering from the challenges of the COVID-19 global health pandemic.
BTS was, also, confirmed to perform for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards. They are expected to perform their new track for the globally aired event on August 30, E Online reported.
BTS is nominated for the 2020 MTV VMAs for the categories Best Pop Video, Best Kpop, and Best Choreography for "ON". They are, also, expected to get busy with preparations for a new album, which will come out before the end of the year.
