Tesla could introduce V4 Superchargers to its next-generation of electric vehicles, according to a new report. During the official reveal of the Cybertruck, Tesla CEO Elon Musk mentioned that it could go beyond the 250 kW charging. While the CEO did not go into details, auto enthusiasts think that the V4 supercharging support could come to the Cybertruck and other future Tesla vehicles.

Tesla V4 Superchargers

The latest report came from Teslarati, which cited Twitter user Whole Mars Blog's latest tweet. According to the EV news channel, the U.S. electric vehicle maker earlier confirmed that the Cybertruck would support V4 Supercharging. The site quoted Elon Musk's earlier statement at the launch of the all-electric pick-up truck. The CEO also noted that the company would reveal the actual number later.

Teslarati speculated that there is a chance that the U.S. electric vehicle maker is gearing for V4 Superchargers for its next batch of electric vehicles. Upcoming electric vehicles from Tesla are anticipated to feature the best and potentially the biggest battery packs to date, the site added. With the company's pace in innovation, it is not surprising that the peak charge rate for the tesla Cybertruck, Plaid Model X, and Plaid Model S would go beyond 350 kW, the site further said.

This kind of strategy is also within the character of the popular U.S. electric vehicle maker. Tesla has the tendency to provide its rivals a short-lived edge prior to leapfrogging them, the site continued. This happened to the track capability of Tycan, which was developed to crush the capabilities of the Tesla Model S, the site continued.

After the unofficial record run of Taycan at the Nurburging, Musk said that the Tesla Model S would take on the infamous track as well. After that, the Tesla Model S totally crushed the unofficial record set by Taycan, Teslarati, cited as an example of Tesla's competitiveness and innovation. But, Tesla's V3 Superchargers have still a long way to go.

The site acknowledged this fact and explained that the 250 kW chargers are new. However, it did not discount the possibility that the company would soon increase its vehicles' peak charging capabilities, especially the next-generation of Tesla electric cars. Tesla did this with the V2 Superchargers and would most likely do it with the V3 Superchargers.
