Huawei Mate 40 series would reportedly use new technology on its camera based on a recent leaked specification. The flagship smartphone series of the Chinese tech giant usually introduces ground-breaking technology each time it arrives in the market. It looks like this year is not an exemption and despite the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Huawei could surprise its competitors with another revolutionary camera feature.

Latest Huawei Mate 40 Leak

The latest set of leaks related to the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 series came from prolific leaker RODENT950. The industry insider is known for his reliable information about Huawei and its upcoming products. In his recent post, the tipster shared the key specs of two smartphones in this year's flagship line up.

These smartphones have Ocean and Noah codenames, according to the tipster. What makes the latest leaked specs interesting is the mention of Liquid Lens technology for the device with the codename Noah. This device is presumably the higher-tier Huawei Mate 40 Pro or the Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus.

The upcoming smartphone would reportedly feature a waterfall display from LG and with a 90 Hz display refresh rate. The leak mentioned that Huawei Mate 40 Pro/Pro Plus (Noah) would house a 50 MP primary shooter with liquid lens technology. This particular technology enables the device to achieve better stabilization and faster autofocus.

Huawei's liquid lens technology was previously discovered through a patent filing. Interestingly, reports thought that this technology might not be available until the Huawei Mate 50 launches in 2021. However, it seems that it is already in the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 flagship series.

Other Huawei Mate 40 Series Specs

Apart from the liquid lens technology, the 50 MP primary shooter of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro (Noah) would reportedly feature an 80 MP ultra-wide Cine camera, a ToF sensor, and a periscope lens. Meanwhile, the device with the Ocean codename is rumored to be the standard Huawei Mate 40 device. The insider claimed that it would feature a 6.67-inch curved display from LG with a display refresh rate of 90 Hz.

The insider claimed that its cameras would house a 50 MP main shooter along with a 20 MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto camera with a laser autofocus mode. The upcoming series would reportedly pack a 4300mAh, 4600 mAh and 5000mAh battery pack presumably for the Huawei Mate 40, Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus, respectively.
