The new iPad Air 4 is reportedly getting a massive redesign. However, there's a catch. A new set of rumors claim that the next generation of iPad Air might be more expensive and could launch in 2021.

iPad Air 4 Rumors

The latest information about the new iPad Air 4 came from a reliable industry insider Komiya. On Twitter, the tipster shared several details about the next-generation Apple tablet. According to Komiya, the upcoming iPad Air 4 would sport the same design as this year's iPad Pro.

Aside from this, the tipster also mentioned several features of the iPad Air 4. This includes an 11-inch display and Face ID. The upcoming premium tablet from Apple would reportedly feature Liquid Retina, four speakers and a USB-C port.

The insider also suggested that the iPad Air 4 might feature a single, ultra-wide camera, but he puts a question mark on it, indicating that this is not yet certain. The forthcoming device is anticipated to feature Apple's A14 Bionic chip. It might be available in 128 GB, 256GB, or 512 GB in terms of internal storage. The iPad Air would reportedly retail at around $649, according to the tipster, which is more expensive than the current-generation iPad Air that retails at around $499.

If the latest information is to go by, it looks like one of the factors to consider is the price of the iPad Air 4. Even if it is compatible with Magic Keyboard, the current market price of detachable keyboard is around $299, and gaming keyboards are a lot pricier. The Cupertino-based tech giant must make sure that it keeps the cost of the upcoming tablet down if it wants to attract more users.

Komiya also said that the upcoming premium tablet from Apple might launch sometime in March 2021. The iPad Air 4 would reportedly offer support to Apple Pencil 2 and higher generation Apple Pencil. Apart from those, the upcoming tablet would allegedly support Smart keyboard Folio and Magic Keyboard.
