Prince Harry's frustration at rumors about wife Meghan Markle started early in their relationship. However, Harry's attempts to protect Markle reportedly caused friction within the royal family.

The Duke of Sussex issued a statement in November 2016 asking the world press to leave the former actress alone. "Prince Harry's decision to write this statement himself - and giving the family only 20 minutes notice he was putting it out - was absolutely catastrophic. It torpedoed Prince Charles' tour of the Middle East - which went down like a lead balloon," royal commentator Russell Myers says in Channel 5's royal documentary Meghan and Harry: The New Revelations.

He says the family has strict protocols about overshadowing any member. But with Harry wanting to end rumors about Markle he appears to have forgotten about his father.

But Harry isn't the only royal getting too big for his boots. Markle is said to have stolen Princess Eugenie's thunder at her wedding.

Even though Markle's pregnancy was officially announced in October 2018 the Duchess of Sussex told the royal family the baby news at Princess Eugenie's "special day," - embarrassing Harry and making Eugenie's mother Sarah, Sarah, Duchess of York, "furious."

Royal watcher Phil Dampier has said the royal family always coordinate big announcements. Markle's news of her expecting was not good timing.

Several reports claim Markle likes to be the center of attention. Posts shared on the online forum Quora were negative about Markle getting pregnant so quickly. Some said she should have waited at least a year.

Harry and Markle stepped down from their roles as senior royals to enjoy a more peaceful life. The duke and duchess moved to the U.S. at the end of March.
