Prince Harry and Prince William are "hot and cold" towards their father Prince Charles, according to the biography Finding Freedom. But, a source close to the Prince of Wales is speaking up and calling the claims from the book a bunch of "poppycock" and "wholly untrue."
The unnamed insider said that the relationship of the heir to the throne towards his sons did not breakdown despite what the book implied. The source slammed the story on Finding Freedom and said that the book is " incredibly one-sided" and filled with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's gripes against the royal family.
Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote about one incident depicting the allegedly difficult relationship between the future King of England and his sons. It happened during Prince Charles' 70th birthday portrait shoot in 2018. A source from Prince Charles's office, allegedly, intimated with the authors that it was a "headache" to set up because Harry and William made no effort to make themselves available, for whatever reasons.
The authors suggested that the relationship between Prince Charles and his boys isn't just as father and sons. The Prince of Wales is, also, their boss and their "purse keeper" in The Firm so their situation could get complex, political and "very up and down" as issues of money and funding crop up.
Apparently, Prince Harry, also, felt that he's been sidelined and that everything else takes precedence over him. There are things he wants to pursue but he couldn't do it because Prince William, the second in line to the throne, was the priority. Prince Harry is the sixth in line to the throne.
However, Scobie and Durand, also, wrote in the book that Prince Charles' relationship with his daughter-in-law, Meghan, is positive. The Prince of Wales has, apparently, "taken a real shine" to Prince Harry's wife and admires her for her sassy personality, strength and confidence.
For Prince Charles, Meghan, apparently, "ticks all the boxes" as someone who is not just beautiful but who is also bright, self-aware, and who makes his son very happy. The Duchess of Sussex and the Prince of Wales, apparently, also, bonded because of their fondness of their arts.
In contrast to the alleged complex relationship between Harry and his dad, the Duchess of Sussex, apparently, regards the Prince of Wales as a second father and not just an in-law. According to the authors, Meghan found a supportive and loving dad in Prince Charles, who also made her life better.
