Red Velvet member Wendy is ready to make a partial comeback after eight months.
According to a report by Soompi, SM Entertainment confirmed that Wendy is gradually easing into different projects after recovering significantly from her accident last December.
It can be recalled that, while she was rehearsing for her solo performance for SBS' Gayo Daejeon, Wendy fell off the stage and sustained severe injuries. It was reported that Wendy injured her face and suffered from fractures to her pelvis and wrist. The extent of the injuries forced Wendy to stay in the hospital for several months and undergo rehabilitation after her discharge.
Fans have been waiting for news of Wendy's comeback as Red Velvet continued to promote the last chapter of their ReVe Festival Trilogy without her.
Last month, Red Velvet, also, launched its first subunit with Seulgi and Irene. In a recent interview, Irene and Seulgi said that Wendy was the first one to congratulate them when they debuted the subunit.
They, also, said that, even though Wendy was not actively participating in activities, she always supported them and cheered them on.
They confirmed that Wendy was recovering well and frequently visited the studio to practice her vocals. They said they looked forward to returning to the stage with all five members very soon.
According to SM Entertainment's latest statement, Wendy will participate in Red Velvet's promotional activities that will not be too strenuous for her. They assured that she has recovered significantly from her injuries after receiving treatment.
To mark Wendy's comeback, SM Entertainment released teaser photos of Red Velvet for their cover of BoA's 2009 hit, "Milky Way." The photo showed all the members including Irene, Seulgi, Joy, Yeri, and Wendy, Soompi reported.
After seeing Wendy in the teaser photos, Reveluvs celebrated by trending her name on Twitter. "Wendy" became a top trending topic, followed by "Wendy is Back."
Some fans even shared how many days they missed Wendy as she received treatment for her injuries. The total time amounted to 237 days, 18 hours, and 5 minutes.
Reveluvs, also, observed that Wendy was looking bright and healthy as she twirled around in a beautiful floral dress that complemented the outfits of her members.
Red Velvet was chosen as one of the artists to do a cover for the Our Beloved BoA Project to celebrate BoA's 20th debut anniversary. Red Velvet's cover of "Milky Way" will be released on August 21.
