Kate Middleton, reportedly, burst into tears after she heard of the accounts of families struggling in this pandemic. The Duchess of Cambridge revealed that she was very emotional after a visit to a baby bank at the very beginning of the coronavirus lockdown in March.

Baby banks are similar to food banks that collect supplies for vulnerable families. However, baby banks specifically gather donations for baby essentials like nappies, bedding, clothing or baby food. One such food back is Baby Basics U.K., which Kate Middleton visited again in early August to help pack the donations. The Duchess of Cambridge was overheard sharing anecdotes of her past visit to the King's Lynn facility.

Kate said that she was so moved by the stories of the struggling families that she got in touch with 19 baby retailers in the U.K. upon returning home to Anmer Hall. Her efforts paid off because these companies donated 10,000 items to 40 food banks across the country, according to Daily Express.

Charities like food and baby banks are currently inundated with a lot of requests since many businesses are shutting down during this pandemic. Some parents are also unable to work so they can't put food on the table.

Pod Save the Queen host Russell Myers said that Kate's work behind the scenes is a "phenomenal achievement," especially when it's hard for families with babies to cope in this current public health crisis. Myers also remarked that Kate did her work without any fanfare.

Myers and his co-host said that it's interesting to see where Kate is positioning herself in this crisis. As always, her focus is on young children and families and it goes in line with her early years' initiative.

Meanwhile, it was also, recently, revealed that Kate spent a special time with her kids -- George, Charlotte and Louis -- in an arts and crafts store at the start of the lockdown. A royal fan shared photos of the handprints of the two older Cambridge kids, dated March 14, at Mable's Paint Pot near their Anmer Hall home in Norfolk.

Apparently, the Duchess of Cambridge and her children spent an afternoon at the quaint art house to unleash their creative side. The mom and her kids returned to Mable's Paint Pot one August weekend.

Locals who spotted Kate Middleton and her three kids said that they bought art supplies, mugs and pots. The art house also had sweets and goodies that George, Charlotte and Louis enjoyed.
