It's official: The Black Adam movie is coming next year and Dwayne Johnson has shared some interesting new details about the highly anticipated DC Extended Universe flick. The news was dropped at DC FanDome last weekend where Johnson unveiled the first teaser for the upcoming flick.

Amazingly, it was confirmed that Noah Centineo will be playing Albert Rothstein aka Atom Smasher in the new project. In addition to that, Johnson revealed that his anti-hero will be joined by the Justice Society of America and even confirmed which characters will be introduced in his movie.

The Black Adam movie had an interesting panel at DC FanDome where Dwayne Johnson first introduced a teaser that introduced the anti-hero. In the teaser, it was confirmed that Black Adam came from the planet Kondok thousands of years ago where he was enslaved.

However, he would later fight back and was imprisoned for his crimes. Although it is not revealed how he managed to escape, Adam states that he is now free and that nobody will be able to stop him.

This certainly sounds like a supervillain story but Dwayne Johnson stated that Black Adam will show the character as more of an anti-hero. During the panel, he also brought in Noah Centineo and confirmed that the To All The Boys I've Loved Before star has been cast as Atom Smasher. The two even chatted about their preparations for their roles in the movie. But, who will be joining Al Rothstein in the movie?

Dwayne Johnson revealed that the Justice Society of America will be playing a huge role in Black Adam. Interestingly, he even confirmed that the JSA lineup will include Hawkman, Doctor Fate, and Cyclone. These characters may work with Atom Smasher in taking down Black Adam. On the other hand, it's also possible that they will form an alliance with Adam in the DCEU flick.

Hawkman is one of the most recognizable names in the lineup considering that he has already appeared in The CW's Legends of Tomorrow but might get recast since that version of the character was killed off in the series. Doctor Fate is a founding member of the Justice Society of America and it is believed that the version that will appear in Black Adam is Kent Nelson.

Finally, Cyclone is expected to be a love interest to Atom Smasher and there have been reports that Warner Bros. is hoping to cast an Alexandra Shipp-type actress to take on the role.

Black Adam will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra while the script is being penned by Adam Sztykiel. The film is scheduled for release on December 22, 2021.
