Miley Cyrus had been in and out of relationships and, every time, she was accused of all sorts of things. The latest of which was she, allegedly, using her recent split from Cody Simpson as a publicity stunt for her new song.

Woman's Day published an article this week with a headline "Miley Cashes In On Another Breakup." In its story, the tabloid claimed the lyrics of Cyrus' latest single, "Midnight Sky," are all about Simpson.

The "Slide Away" singer dropped her new song on August 14, just a few hours after she confirmed that she and Cody had split. Miley made it clear that it wasn't a dramatic breakup and assured that they remained as friends.

Despite Miley's assurance that there was no tension between her and Cody when they broke up, Woman's Day still speculated that it wasn't an amicable split. The tabloid claimed Cody was furious about "Midnight Sky" lyrics.

It cited a source as saying the 23-year-old Australian model/singer feels like he's a "walking, talking, singing publicity stunt" of Cyrus. The insider added that it is true that Cody's career got a boost because of his romance with Miley. However, he, also, thought that they will have more than just an album promo opportunity.

Gossip Cop dismissed the rumor. It reached out to a rep for Cyrus, who denied the Woman's Day allegation. Both Miley and Cody haven't talked about their breakup in detail. Cyrus just told her fans that they decided to take time apart to "work on" themselves.

As for the lyrics of "Midnight Sky," Miley Cyrus talked about it during her interview with SiriusXM. She revealed that the song was more about her divorce from ex-husband Liam Hemsworth and relationships in general.

The former couple decided to take their separate ways in August 2019. The Hunger Games actor filed for divorce and it was finalized earlier this year.

In her interview with SiriusXM, Cyrus said she would like those who listened to her new song not to think about "forever" seriously. Miley said, most of the time, women feel the stigma when "forever" doesn't happen in their relationship. The "Wrecking Ball" singer stressed that women should not think less of themselves when their relationship failed.

Gossip Cop added that Woman's Day has a not reliable reputation when it comes to its reporting about Cyrus and her relationships. Earlier this month, it claimed Simpson was cheating on the multi-awarded singer.

It published photos of Cody having lunch with a woman, who the tabloid referred to as an "old flame." Gossip Cop debunked the rumor.
