Rockstar Games reportedly wiped out "GTA 5 Online" accounts and characters on various gaming platforms such as PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It turned out that the popular money or apartment glitch is now back. Just like a lot of glitches in the game, many players got a taste of it, resulting in their characters and accounts being wiped clean.

If you are one of those players who have recently lost your character, money or account in "GTA 5 Online," know that Rockstar Games is punishing you. Rockstar games insider Tez2 shared that those who used the glitch got notifications that their accounts have been wiped clean to a certain degree depending on the degree the user has participated in glitches of this kind.

Although the punishment may appear extreme, it is not new in "GTA 5." The game developer has been penalizing players who took advantage of glitches in the game since it was released. In fact, players who have participated in some kind of glitch exploitation in the game are aware of the consequences. Several players have not been banned from the game yet, but it is most likely happening soon.

Also, Rockstar Games usually executes account wipes in waves. If you are exploiting the money glitch, and your account is still fine, it is highly likely that a next wave is coming to hit and your account might be included. At the time of this writing, the said glitch on "GTA 5 Online" is still working and it is not yet clear when will Rockstar Games roll out a fix.

Is there a way to get your account back if your "GTA 5 Online" account was wiped clean or deleted? According to YouTuber The Game Reviews, there is a chance that one might retrieve their deleted account. After he contacted Rockstar Games' local support, the YouTuber claimed that his statement was returned.

Rockstar Games' customer service was very helpful and responsive, according to the YouTuber. He got all his "GTA" money, properties and vehicles back in less than 24 hours. Rockstar Games said that it is aware of the issue and assured players that it is now working on a solution.

The game developer's support staff also apologized for the inconvenience and promised to respond back with an update when it becomes available. "GTA 5 Online" is free to all "GTA 5" owners on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
