Wynonna Earp season 4 wrapped up its first half last weekend on Syfy. Now, the series will go on hiatus and viewers need to wait until next year before seeing the titular character and others back on the small screen. Due to the global health crisis, the current installment wasn't able to finish up everything.
Syfy confirmed that the second half of Wynonna Earp season 4 will be released in 2021. While the series could return within the first half of the year, there are still other factors that need to be considered. The global health crisis remains the biggest filming challenge here.
Cast and crew won't be able to resume filming unless the situation goes back to normal or gets a little bit better. But the good thing is that there's no need to rush the return date since the current installment is in production on the remaining episodes.
There is work already being done for these episodes, and this is a sign the second half could premiere sooner than later. Still, everyone needs to follow certain health measures and guidelines to ensure the safety of the cast and crew on set.
CarterMatt noted that Wynonna Earp season 4 might be returning either January or February. The series will have enough time to finish everything in the coming months and get the new episodes ready in early 2021. Yet, we could also see a few changes once it returns on Syfy.
The second half might be somehow different than the first half. The promo hints that the series will have a new look for some of the characters and a different color palette, as well. In addition to that, more threats are coming for Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano) and others.
Wynonna Earp season 4 could feature a warmer version of the Purgatory community. Usually, the series begins filming in the winter and spring to take advantage of the weather. However, some things might be different for the second half of the current installment.
When the show returns, Doc's (Tim Rozon) storyline might be further explored. He is in a tight spot at the moment since he made a deal that could have some far-reaching consequences. It looks like the character is getting closer to learning what the repercussion of that deal are.
Things could get even more intense moving forward in the second half of Wynonna Earp season 4. Some lives might be in grave danger, leaving their future in question. We could expect more twists and turns, chances to learn more about other characters, and victories along the way.
