Chelsea F.C. is expected to unload some of its players and one name that has been mentioned is Emerson Palmieri. As of this writing, there is no official word on whether the 26-year-old will be released. The only thing known so far is that I Nerazzurri is interested in the Brazilian as relayed by his agent.

Emerson has yet to discuss his future with the Blues through a departure seems imminent. He was limited to just 15 games under Frank Lampard last season, something that hints at a potential exit. The left-back arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2018 for an initial price of $23 million and $10 million in add-ons, Goal reported.

But the thing about Emerson is that he has failed to secure a regular spot in the first team. With the new faces in the mix, he could be deemed excess baggage. With the coming of Ben Chilwell, Emerson is likely to fall further down the rotation which suggests that a move out of Chelsea is imminent.

However, Emerson’s agent Fernando Garcia reveals that they have not yet spoken to Blues management. All he can confirm is that there is interest from several clubs which include Inter Milan.

"It is possible he will leave Chelsea," Garcia said to FCInter08. "I have not yet spoken to the club. All I can say is that there is interest from Inter in the player. We’ll see."

Aside from Inter, other teams interested in Emerson include Juventus and Napoli. Both have been linked to the 26-year-old player who has two years left in his current deal. However, I Nerazzurri was singled out as the clubs keen to pluck him from Stamford Bridge.

A move to San Siro makes sense since it would reunite Emerson with Antonio Conte. Conte was in charge of Chelsea when Emerson first arrived. The only thing standing in the way is that Inter can only afford $25 million, short of the Premier League’s valuation.

This development also means that Conte will stay at the helm of Inter. There were suggestions that he could be replaced following their 2019-20 campaign.

But it appears everything has been ironed out through recent talks. Management plans to move forward and find ways to improve on their recent campaign.

"The club and Antonio Conte had a constructive meeting today focused on continuity and strategy, in which the two parties laid the foundations to continue working together on the club's project," per a released club statement.
