It has been a long wait but Disney+ and Marvel Studios have finally dropped the first teaser for WandaVision. Not surprisingly, the trailer puts the focus on Wanda Maximoff and Vision, who appear to be living in idealized suburban lives.

However, there's one awesome thing about the teaser that now has people talking. Interestingly, the trailer for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe show may have confirmed the arrival of the new Captain Marvel who will take over after Brie Larson's Carol Danvers.

The trailer for WandaVision was unexpectedly dropped during the Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 20 and it immediately had fans hyped up for the upcoming Marvel series. After all, the trailer teased on the tension for both Wanda Maximoff and Vision although they appear to be enjoying their suburban life.

At one point, the couple's neighbor played by Kathryn Hahn even has an unnerving scene as she tells Vision that he is supposed to be dead. However, there was something else that caught fans' attention in the teaser.

In one scene, a woman is shown flying through the air as if thrown back by a powerful impact. She even appears to cross dimensions as the scene switches to night and is found by what look like SHIELD agents or the army. However, the woman is then revealed to be perfectly fine despite what happened to her.

So who is this mysterious woman in the WandaVision trailer? The actress in the scene is Teyonah Parris and it has already been confirmed that the If Beale Street Could Talk star will portray the adult Monica Rambeau, who had previously appeared as a child in Captain Marvel.

With that in mind, the scene may have teased on how Monica gains her powers and becomes a superhero like her mother Maria Rambeau's best friend Carol Danvers.

Now here's the interesting part: in the comic books, Monica Rambeau eventually takes on the Captain Marvel mantle after Carol Danvers. So does this mean that Brie Larson will soon be passing the torch to Teyonah Parris?

For now, it's still confirmed that Larson will reprise her role in Captain Marvel 2. However, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if Monica takes on her other alter ego Photon or Spectrum in WandaVision or in a future MCU project.

WandaVision has not yet been given an official release date. However, it is already expected to premiere on Disney+ in December.
