Fans are understandably concerned about The Falcon and The Winter Soldier which is already supposed to be released on Disney+ later this year. Unfortunately, production on the series has been put on hold due to COVID-19 and it is still unclear if the cast and crew will be able to finish working on the last episodes in time.
Nevertheless, people are learning interesting new things about the Marvel Cinematic Universe show as details from the set have surfaced on the internet. For instance, it has been revealed that the series may have cast Solo: A Star Wars Story actress Erin Kellyman as the Marvel supervillain Songbird.
A new report from Murphy's Multiverse reveals that an Atlanta local has spotted some of the cast of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier filming an interesting scene. According to the witness, the scene included Georges St-Pierre, who has previously been cast as Batroc the Leaper in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The former MMA star was reportedly seen with Desmond Chiam as well as Erin Kellyman, who is best known for her role as Enfys Nest in Solo: A Star Wars Story. In addition to that, the scene they were filming supposedly confirmed that Kellyman has been cast as Songbird.
"Georges was filming in a park standing with Desmond by a bench, while Erin sat between them on the back of the bench with her feet on the seat. He could not hear any dialogue but said that Erin's character used some kind of power, unclear how, to impress the two. The power involved extras near them in a field stopping, simultaneously looking at the phones, looking up, and all walking towards them in a group and as if in a trance," the site reported.
It's an odd superpower that is fairly similar to what Songbird can do in the Marvel comic books. Originally known as Screaming Mimi, the supervillain possesses supersonic sound abilities that can cause a variety of effects. One of her talents happens to be a hypnotic song that allows her to manipulate people into doing as she orders. If Songbird is set to appear in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, she could be a major problem for Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson.
Songbird's introduction in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is also an exciting possibility for fans who have been hoping to see the Thunderbolts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it is important to point out that Erin Kellyman's role has not yet been confirmed so it's best to take this with a grain of salt.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will star Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie. The series is expected to premiere on Disney+ later this year.
