It's no secret that The Mandalorian Season 2 is the series that almost everyone is waiting for this year. The success of the first season had a lot to do with the surprise introduction of Baby Yoda, who would turn out to be a truly important character in the storyline.

Luckily, The Child will be back in the second season as Din Djarin seeks out his people throughout the galaxy. Now the first images from the next chapter of the Star Wars show have been released along with interesting new details about what will happen in their new adventures.

The first images from The Mandalorian Season 2 were unveiled by Entertainment Weekly, which confirmed that Baby Yoda will be featured both covers of its Fall TV Preview. While The Child takes center stage in the first cover, he also appears in the second cover that puts the focus on Din Djarin.

In addition to that, there were new pictures of Cara Dune, Greef Karga, and Moff Gideon which strongly suggests that all of these characters will play major roles again in the second season. You can see the photos here.

So what is happening in The Mandalorian Season 2? Creator Jon Favreau and director Dave Filoni stated that since Din Djarin and Baby Yoda are setting out on new adventures, fans can expect to see more characters.

"The new season is about introducing a larger story in the world," Favreau said. "The stories become less isolated, yet each episode has its own flavor, and hopefully we're bringing a lot more scope to the show."

"Everything gets bigger, the stakes get higher, but also the personal story between the Child and the Mandalorian develops in a way I think people will enjoy," Filoni added.

Although Din Djarin and Baby Yoda will be visiting new locations in the new season, Giancarlo Esposito confirmed that his character Moff Gideon won't be far behind. In fact, Djarin and Gideon are set for a tense reunion in The Mandalorian Season 2.

"I'll be going toe-to-toe with Mando," Esposito said. "It's an iconic battle. I want to disarm him mentally as well. Who knows? Maybe there's an opportunity to get him to fight some battles for me."

Will Din Djarin manage to keep Baby Yoda away from Moff Gideon? Is there any chance that they will actually find The Child's people? Find out when The Mandalorian Season 2 premieres on Disney+ on October 31.
