There is little doubt that Pedro Pascal is currently one of the hottest stars in Hollywood. Although he was first known for playing the dashing Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones, he has since made a name for himself as he took on the roles of amazing characters in film and television.

However, it looks like Pascal has found a truly unexpected and quirky role in his latest project. It has been confirmed that the star of The Mandalorian will be joining the bizarre new film about Nicolas Cage that is being led and produced by Nicolas Cage himself.

It's no secret that Nicolas Cage is drawn to strange and unusual projects. After all, this is the same man who has starred in films like Kick-Ass, The Sorceror's Apprentice, Mandy, Con-Air, and National Treasure.

So, it's no surprise that Cage has agreed to play himself in the upcoming meta comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent which will feature a version of Nicolas Cage who ends up working undercover to take down a drug lord.

Although Cage has been the only star attached to the project, it has just been confirmed that The Mandalorian actor Pedro Pascal will be joining the cast. According to The Wrap, Pedro Pascal has been cast as Javi, who is described as a "Nic Cage superfan who is not all that he appears to be." It may not sound like much right now, the character is actually one of the most important parts in the upcoming movie.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent will star Nicolas Cage playing a version of himself who is down on his luck and desperate to make money. This leads to him accepting a deal to make an appearance at a wealthy super fan's birthday. Interestingly, the fan, who will be played by Pedro Pascal, turns out to be a drug lord and Cage is somehow forced to take on a dangerous mission to take the man down.

The upcoming film will be directed by Tom Gormican, who came up with the idea for a Nicolas Cage meta film and co-wrote the screenplay with Kevin Etten. For now, Cage and Pedro Pascal are the only confirmed cast members but stay tuned for more updates on this story.

In addition to the new Nicolas Cage movie, Pedro Pascal is expected to reprise his role in The Mandalorian Season 2, which has not yet been given an official release date. Nevertheless, the series is already set to return on Disney+ by October.
