Fans called out JYP Entertainment for the label's mistreatment of TWICE. They trended the hashtag #RespectTWICE_JYPE to make their sentiments known to the agency.
In a joint statement by ONCEasONE, fans decried the unfair treatment that TWICE has been receiving from JYP Entertainment since the beginning of their career. Fans complained of poor styling choices for the members, uncomfortable clothes, lack of proper promotion, uneven line distribution, and overwork.
ONCEasONE was formed by multiple fanbases who are working to improve TWICE's position under JYP.
According to fans, TWICE is missing out on a lot of opportunities because of JYP's poor handling of the members' talents. Fans observed that Tzuyu and Jeongyeon never once topped the brand reputation rankings even though they could pull off any style because JYP's stylists were not giving them a chance to shine.
In their complaint, ONCEs pointed out the quality of clothes that TWICE members are asked to wear to events and performances that make it uncomfortable for them to move. Short skirts and flimsy tops, also, threaten to cause wardrobe malfunctions.
Despite being one of JYP Entertainment's top earners, fans called out the label for, allegedly, not spending enough for the members' needs. They demanded that JYP spend TWICE's money on TWICE since they worked hard to deliver profits to the company.
Fans even compared TWICE members to other girl group members who are given a chance to do solo promotions. Even the line distribution in TWICE's songs don't cater to the individual members' vocal strengths and styles.
However, among the main sources of concern for ONCE, are the malicious comments and derogatory statements that haters are posting against the members.
Last year, it can be recalled that Sana had to take a break because of anxiety issues. Jihyo, also, admitted to suffering from depression amid the constant pressure of being in the limelight.
Worse, TWICE members have been subject to stalking. The worst case was for Nayeon's foreign stalkerJosh.
The German sasaeng, reportedly, flew to Korea to actively get close to Nayeon. On one occasion, he was able to board the same plane as TWICE and attempted to approach Nayeon on board. The stalker left Korea but he continues to threaten Nayeon in his posts on social media.
It can be recalled that JYP Entertainment, recently, filed 37 charges against TWICE's malicious commenters and vowed to go after more haters who would spread malicious information against the members, Soompi reported.
