Arsenal FC was hoping to land Dani Ceballos on a permanent deal but will have to settle for another loan deal for now. It appears Real Madrid is not yet ready to move the 24-year-old footballer even though Los Blancos may have no room for Ceballos at Santiago Bernabeu.

This setup will have to do now though it cannot be dismissed that the Gunners tried to push for a permanent move for Ceballos. Mikel Arteta already held talks with the Spanish midfielder and told him that his best option would be to return to the Premier League for another year, The Guardian reported.

Arsenal had pitched three offers to Real for Ceballos to renew his loan. In the end, a one-year loan deal turned out to be the best option. A permanent move to Emirates Stadium may have to wait for now with the central midfielder best using the new lease to prove what else he can do for the Gunners.

So far, Ceballos has been doing great under the watch of Arteta. The Spaniard joined Arsenal with Unai Emery still calling the shots. Making his journey with the Gunners tougher was the fact he had suffered injuries. It was at this time when Arsenal management decided to move in a different direction with the hiring of Arteta. Surprisingly, Ceballos answered the call.

The result was Ceballos becoming one of the reliable players Arteta had at his disposal. It appeared he has found a new home but that can only be made official if Real Madrid permits it. That could still come although it may happen no earlier than next year.

"I'm very happy at Arsenal," Ceballos said to Sky Sports. "It's a club in which I already have a year of experience, so it would be very easy to return."

Ceballos will have to console himself with another loan year and hope for the best. Arsenal is still trying to improve as it tries to fare better this coming season.

Among the new players set to join the Gunners is Gabriel Magalhaes. He has already come to terms with Arsenal management and everything should be made official soon. Expected to leave Emirates Stadium is Henrikh Mkhitaryan who has moved to Roma.

For Real Madrid, there are also players leaving. James Rodriguez is one of the departing players who is reportedly set to join Everton. Even with his departure, there is no telling if Zinedine Zidane will have a change of heart and put the 24-year-old to use.
