Melania Trump shared a "rare" post on social media in an effort to defend Donald Trump. This comes after the United States President, allegedly, referred to the fallen American Marines from World War I as "losers."

On Friday, the First Lady took her thoughts to Twitter and stated that the story from The Atlantic is untrue. She said that it has become "a very dangerous time" considering that the public believes assertions from unnamed sources, "above all else." She, also, noted that it is an "activism," instead of journalism, adding that it is a "disservice" to the Americans.

The Deccan Herald deemed the tweet as "rare" since Melania Trump does not usually come to social media to call stories about her husband as untrue. Reports, more often than not, describe her as a silent First Lady, which likely became the base as to why many see her as "mysterious."

Just like his wife, Donald Trump also took the time to send a "barrage of tweets" to defend himself against the allegations. He argued that the publication is "dying," and that this is the reason why they create "fake" stories.

The whole debacle comes after Jeffrey Goldberg wrote for The Atlantic magazine that four sources opened up, claiming that Donald Trump "rejected" the idea of visiting the Aisne-Marne cemetery. The sources, reportedly, had "firsthand knowledge" of the conversation that took place in November 2018.

CNN reported that Melania Trump's husband was supposed to go to the World War I cemetery during his trip to France to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the war. However, they blamed the "rain and fog" for hindering the visit to take place since the helicopter could not proceed with the flight to the site.

The unnamed sources, however, alleged that the trip did not take place because Trump did not believe in the importance of honoring the American war dead. He, also, told his senior staff members that the cemetery is "filled with losers."

Melania Trump has caught the attention of many after posting her tweet. While many "liked" and "retweeted" the post to show their support, many netizens criticized her. They have since argued that she is not in the right position to say anything about "honesty" or "integrity journalism" when she lies all the time.

Several individuals, also, called her out for being a "birther" and a racist. In the end, though, the First Lady, alongside the East Wing, has remained silent afterward.
