Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently announced that they had signed a deal with Netflix. This move didn’t shock a lot of people as they were heavily speculated to be heading towards the entertainment scene after their royal exit. The Duchess of Sussex was an actress before marrying the younger son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana in 2018. So, their new contract makes a lot of sense.

Before their Netflix deal announcement, an unofficial biography of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle titled Finding Freedom was released. While the couple’s camp said in a statement that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t collaborate with the authors of the book, the level of detail has raised eyebrows.

Now, a friend of Prince Harry spoke to royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah about Finding Freedom and how it affected his relationship with the Royal Family. They shared that the Duke of Sussex is “so far gone” that a reconciliation with his family may not happen anytime soon.

“The old Harry would never do this. It’s needless drama, drama, drama. They got most of what they asked for, they got the Queen’s public support and they’re out in California with Archie planning their new life the way they wanted it. But they can’t let go of the past and move on. It’s so sad,” they said.

Just two years after their marriage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they would be stepping down as senior royals. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to quit their roles to pursue a “more peaceful” life.

It was previously reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s controversial speech about the Commonwealth, the unofficial book about their royal exit, and the former actress’s ongoing legal action against the Mail on Sunday could “worsen” their relationship with the Royal Family. The Duchess of Sussex filed a lawsuit against the publisher of The Mail on Sunday and MailOnline for publishing part of her private letter to her estranged father Thomas Markle in 2018.

In the documents, Meghan Markle’s legal team claimed that she was “unprotected by the Institution” while pregnant. It was also stated that the Duchess of Sussex was frustrated that the Royal Family approach “prohibited” her from “defending herself.”

But, Meghan Markle’s lawsuit is not the only thing that could drive a wedge between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Royal Family. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams previously warned that the couple’s tell-all book may cause “serious harm” to their relationship with the Royal Family members, especially Queen Elizabeth.
