BTS has broken a lot of records. Their recent accomplishment is winning the top spot on Billboard‘s Hot 100 for “Dynamite” — not once, but twice.

On September 10, BTS appeared on KBS News9 to talk about their historic win, their thoughts, and feelings about the whole thing. Despite their superstardom status, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have remained humble and grateful, which is one of the main reasons why ARMYs love them.

BTS released its disco-inspired summer bop “Dynamite” on August 21, and it sold 265,000 digital copies in its first week. The boys revealed that they made “Dynamite” to give comfort to their fans while dealing with the coronavirus outbreak.

Jimin even shared that they were not thinking about numbers when making the new song, they simply created it to make ARMYs happy during the pandemic. What they didn't know is that “Dynamite” would end up being their first song to debut at No.1 on Billboard‘s “Hot 100” chart.

While other artists may believe that their popularity led them to nab the top spot, Suga has a humble opinion on why their latest song became a huge success.

“Since the circumstances in both Korea and abroad aren’t so good right now, we wanted to cheer up our fans with things that we’re good at while making the song. Luckily, our fans loved it, and I’m wondering if that’s what yielded these results,” he said.

The Billboard‘s Hot 100 results were announced on September 1, which happened to be Jungkook’s birthday. The BTS members then took to social media to express their happiness and gratitude.

Even the calm and collected Suga couldn’t help but post a lot of crying symbols. J-Hope and Jimin also shared that they could not stop crying while V was in utter disbelief.

RM and Jin noted that their Billboard win was a great present to Jungkook. Hours later, BTS held a live broadcast to not only celebrate the Golden Maknae’s birthday but to thank ARMYs for their historic win.

“It’s the best birthday gift ever. Also, it’s all thanks to ARMY. They gave me great support. I realized that they’re doing so many things for my birthday," Jungkook said.

RM, then, revealed that Jungkook lost his voice from crying. The BTS singer was so touched with ARMYs’ gift that he got really emotional. “I cried so much,” JK admitted.
